How to Hire a Discount Real Estate Agent to get the Most Value

When looking to sell your existing property, you may live in a neighborhood where the properties are selling quickly and easily. You may need as little as a sign on your front doorstep indicating that you would like to sell your house in order to get the job done. If you would like to involve a real estate agent, but you don’t want to pay all the fees required that real estate agents usually charge, then you may be interested in getting a discount agent. Discount agents are the same as regular real estate agents; however, they will not spend as much time and money marketing your property. They will generally do all the paperwork, but they will leave the marketing more up to the seller.

You can quickly and easily find a discount real estate agent by visiting any one of the major search engines, by calling your local real estate brokerage, or by contacting us.

Using a discount agent over a full service agent may end up saving you thousands of dollars on real estate fees. Make sure to review the different packages available before hiring a real estate agent to help you sell your property.

Great post, it’s good for savvy home buyers and sellers to know that they have other options out there.

I may be bias but I feel that you left an important piece of information out of this article… there are search tools available that allow buyers and sellers to find discount agents. (disclaimer: this is what CompeteRealty does)

The more knowledge the better when buying or selling.

In this economy, while people may be looking to save, there is a price for that savings. The current economy will not provide people the kind of results that a Brokerage can. But, if you can afford to wait, go for it.

The most successful realtors have established relationships that carry their “presence” in the industry through client recommendations back to them.

We had an excellent agent, Peter Wangoe with Coldwell Banker, in the San Juan Islands who helped us with three properties. If you are lucky enough to get an agent like him, it’s worth every penny.
